hi all,
I want to do some home recording, as i tomorrow will have in my posession an absolutely beautiful semiacoustic guitar which has really inspired me!I've wanted to do it for ages, but now i'm serious! What i want to know is, what programs are accessible with jaws, and, also, is there a digital recorder i could buy that would allow me to get the basic tracks down, then a program which i could work independantly with jaws which would allow me to mix and add effects such as reverb etc?
Any replies tonight would be greatly appreciated as i would love to buy the thing tomorrow along with my new guitar, and start recording asap, but of course, i realise that may not be possible, but please do respond as I'm sort of clueless about all this stuff, all i know is, i have a passion for making music hahahahaha!
Thanks so much in advance

I have a recording studio and use Sonar with the free JSonar scripts from www.jsonar.org. However, all that said, there are more things to consider, like an audio interface, good microphones, and monitor speakers. You'll spend a whole lot of money, over $1000 to get the whole thing right. As for portable recorders with accessibility, Roland used to make some, but they no longer do, except the low end Boss units, and you may be able to use one of those. Also, Yamaha makes a few, but I can' speak to their accessibility. Tascam makes the 2488 which is somewhat accessible.

A good program for recording on the pc is Total Recorder. It's not free, but the pro edition is damn worth the price. Has add ons for making enhancements to your audio.
